STARs - Success Through Action and Results

Alhamdullillah, KongsiKongsi Goal Setting Seminar - Reach for the Stars telah pun selamat dikendalikan pada 10hb Disember 2011.

There are many benefits in setting goals, some of them are listed below in the flyer.

And there are some questions you have to ask yourself, while you are setting your goals.
1. What do you really want out of life?
2. Where are you going and what are you working towards?
3. What do want to achieve?  And perhaps most important of all,
4. Who are you? Have you figure out why you have been put here on planet earth as a human being?

Once you have work out the above, you will be needing some tools to carry out your plans towards achieving your goals, you may even need the help of a coach to help guide you and hold you responsible
for your goals, actions and results.

Come and join KongsiKongsi to meet your coach or coaches.

Rumpelstiltskin

Looking out of my window
I saw a colorful rainbow
and I remember a story
once told
about a leprechaun and
his pot of gold.

How I wish to meet him
I wonder if his name is Rumplestikin
He who churn hay into gold
must be someone who is
fun and bold.

Birthday Wish.

To:     Purple Yip
From: Olive Green

Roses are red, Emma
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet, Emma
But not as sweet as you

You are growing up fast, Emma
You are almost as tall as Daddy
You are now a fine young lady
But you will always be my baby

A little treasure, Emma
For you to keep
Worth much more then gold, Emma
In times of need

Be Healthy, be Wealthy
But most of all be Happy

Safe guard your dignity
Keep your sanity
Protect your legacy
And always keep a smile ready

Be Healthy, Be Wealthy
But above all be Happy

For Happiness and Contentment
To the Lord Al-Mighty
Is the key
To a life full of Glory.

Roses are red, Emma
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet, Emma
But not as sweet as you.

Mummy.

TRANSFORMASI – Madam Butterfly

Transformation demands sacrifices.
Quoting His Excellency  Mr. Mahatma Gandhi “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”. Just like our Madam Butterfly, she struggles and transform from a ‘yuckky’ caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly.
I would like to share a story that I read on transformation, its toil and sacrifices……..For half a century, the British people suffered economically for their moral leadership. The British has decided to abolish slave trading. On the eve of the abolition, British ships carried 52% of slaves across the Atlantic and British colonies produces 55% of worlds’ sugar. Without slaves the British colonies will be ruined. France benefited enormously and The United States too... Sugar production in the British West Indies fell 25% in the 1st 35 years of the slave abolition, while production in competing countries with slaves rose 210%. And while leading the way in trying to suppress slave trade, the British Army lost 5000 lives, not to mention higher taxes for the British people.  Furthermore, such unilateral action was costly diplomatically, enraging other countries and putting Britain in open conflicts with rival military powers. Yet Britain did not flinch and subsequently its example prompted France to abolish slavery in 1848 and inspired the Emancipation Proclamation which in effect ended the transatlantic slave trade. For 60 years Britain SACRIFICED an annual average of 1.8 percentage points of its GNP because of its moral commitment to ending slavery.  Calculated accumulatively for the United States today, it would be the equivalent of sacrificing an astounding US$ 14 Trillion.
A HEROIC EXAMPLE OF A NATION PLACING ITS VALUES ABOVE ITS INTEREST.
Apakah SEBAB nya? Apa kah SEBAB kita? Apakah SEBAB anda? Menginginkan transformasi ini.
Kemarin, ada seorang  bagi tahu pada saya....”Kaum lain, bila tahu sahaja bangunan (shopping mall, pasaraya, kedai) tu kepunyaan orang Melayu, dia kona…tak masuk , dia pi kedai  kaum dia, contoh bangunan UDA kat bas stand klang. Dulu penuh tempat tu, orang ramai, la ni mati”
Shema jawab/tanya. “Mengikut statistic  Kaum Melayu la…yang paling banyak mencurah kan duit bebelanja….mana pi depa? Depa shopping kat mana?  Kalu betui statistic rasanya kita tak perlu kaum lain belanja tempat kita.”
Secara tersurat saya mengaku bersalah sebab memang selalu belanja tempat kaum lain….SEBAB tersirat….kita bincang lain topic ok.

Apakah SEBAB nya? Apa kah SEBAB kita? Apakah SEBAB anda? Menginginkan transformasi ini.
Terima  Kasih daun keladi.

My Son Is A Grown Young Man

My Shawni will be 18 years old this October. He has a driving license and he has his own car. That's right, my first-born is all grown up. It seems like only yesterday, I was carrying him around town in my belly. It seems like only yesterday that he was born. It seems only like yesterday that I held him for the first time in my arms. How he use to sleep so soundly on my chest.
Where did the time go?
How soon will it be, before he leaves home for college? How much longer do I have before I lose him to all the pretty young girls ( he says, he has no special girl ). And soon he will be married and have a family of his own.
I'm gratefull that I had the luxury of watching him grow, to be a part and an influence in his life. Everyone who knows him, knows what a wonderful young man he is. I must say, that his father, is a great parent, providing him and all of us a conducive enviroment for love, hapiness, health, knowledge, wealth, friendship, faith, hopes and dreams to blossom where we are planted.
Son, thank you for chosing me to be your mom, thank you for loving me and I love you tender, I love you sweet and you're my dreams fulfill.

Children Are From Heaven.

I picked up a book by Dr John Gray...Children Are From Heaven, from a little bookshop while waiting for Ms. Emmilia.

And I remembered....a story, told to me by my dadima....

Children are really from heaven, that is where I came from, and that is where my children came from.

In the beginning, all children live in heaven, they play and eat and play again, all day along. There were no worries, no chores, no school, no homeworks and no parents to boss them around.

But, they grew, you see, so it's time for them to relocate to earth. GOD invited the children into His chambers and ask them to look out of the window, down to earth.

GOD told the children it is time for them to choose their parents. The children did and they travel for about nine months (earth time), to get to their chosen destination. Their purpose is to make their (miserable adult) parents happy again. Yup, most parents are happy to receive such a gift... and of course, some were less grateful.

It sadden me to read about children being abuse, even murdered by their parents, grandparents, relatives and caregivers alike.

We did not know, did we? or did we forget, that the children chose us as their parents. They must have seen something great in us.

InsyaALLAH, I vow to remember that Shawn, Emma, Emmilia and Elle are from heaven and they chose me to lead them back home again.

SEMBANG-SEMBANG UTARA

“The Creative Enterprise : Innovate Your Business” was the topic discussed at the 1st Sembang Sembang Utara, held in Penang on the 4th of May 2011.  Why, I’m writing about it? Because, I was one of the panelist. Well, obviously I was not the best choice, but since I hail from the North Land and they practically beg me to come home….
I shared the panelist seats with…wow, awesome great women, the likes of Vice President of DPMMPP, Cik Yuslinov Ahmad, a civil and syariah lawyer and an active champion of women’s rights issues. Hajjah Aishah Yeop Abdul Rahman, Vice Chairperson of Perlembagaan Pertubuhan Kebajikan Wanita Darul Hasanah, Pulau Pinang, another lawyer by profession. Ms Krista Goon, co-founder of Rex Box Studio, a web design and marketing company with a difference: She told me, as a child she aspire to be a lawyer….And the moderator, Puan Fazlina Dato’ Ahmad Daud, actress, event host, artiste and businesswoman.
And of course, there was me, Shahema Baiza-Yip, Jill of all trade, master of none. I did not want to disappoint anyone, I gave my commitment and I did my best. One thing for sure….I do have the Give of the Gap.
Blah, Blah, Blah…it was quite a show with me speaking “Uthagra”
The participants graciously received my motto in life: Happiness, Health and Wealth. My Golden Rule: GOD first, Family 2nd and Career 3rd. As well as my business concept: Social Entrepreneurship – GO GIVE. Always keep a Smile ready.
I was overwhelmed by the respond that I received from everyone on that day, The attention was awesome and I would like to say Thank you, so very much.  It was nice coming home.

Financial Management Training

Financial Management Training Class at KSS, Kuala Lumpur was scheduled for 19th April 2011, is now postponed to the 22nd and  a change of venue to Mdea.......WHY la.....???? tak der rezeki betui, I have sign up for this class twice in this 1 year. Suka benor main tukaq-tukaq date and venue. Will I be eliminated or terminated for posting this on my newly founded blog...WaALLAHWaAlam, who reads my blog anyway?

I have my own approach in managing my finances, and I'll share it now...perhaps it can be of  help to those that are not able to attend the class, due to the changes.

Firstly, you need to separate your income into 6 accounts, and every month a certain percentage of your income/salary must be brutally contributed into these accounts, no cheating!

1. Financial Freedom Account (FFA)      10%
Insurance policies & Other Wealth Creation Investments

2. Long term Project Account (LTPA)      10%
Home & Other Wealth Building Investments

3. Charity                                                   5%
The Hand that giveth is better than the one that received.
The more thy give, the more thou shall receive.
    What goes around comes around.

4. Education                                             10%
Knowledge is probably the only single thing you can take home with you when you die

5. PlayJay                                                10%
This account is what you use to reward yourself, like going to the spa, holidays or travel 1st class

6. Expenses                                              55%
Enjoy- God gave you Life, it is your responsibility to give him back a LIFESTYLE!

Secondly do look into The 3 'I' Principle = Insurance, Investments and Inheritance

most people would agree on the importance of insurance and would have secured a policy. Insurance is a vehicle that is able to create instant cash for the family during emergencies such as dreaded disease, disability or death.

You can only move forward in building wealth when you invest. Your investment does not necessary have to be of high risk to achieve great returns. There are government bonds and trust funds available. Landed property and Gold are two good commodities to consider. I always say...anything that man cannot make is a good investment. Investment allows you to accumulate funds for retirement.

And after all that...you will have to write down your will, your final say on the distribution of your assets (hopefully there are plenty) after death.

Sounds good and easy enough to follow right?

Next time, we will discuss The 4th 'I' - Generating Income to fund the 3 Is, ideally continuously, even tho you cannot continue anymore...

Penang

2 nights in Penang, 77th Rotary International District 3300 Assembly can make a hard man and woman humble the nights away with fellowship. The toughest guys tumble while I sway the nights in my 3 inches stilettos. However, I was very careful in choosing my company.

Penang, Pearl of the Orient, and the city don't know what the city is getting, The creme de la creme of The Rotary World with the show and everything but Simon Yam. Time flies, doesn't seem a minute since the installation night had me in it. All change, don't you know that when you play at this level, there's no ordinary venue.

2 nights in Penang and the world's your oyster, the bars are temples but the pearls ain't free....I can feel an angel sliding up to me.

Looking forward towards next year Assembly.
